The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom features numerous mysteries hidden across the vast world of Hyrule. Among the most compelling secrets is the Statue of the Eighth Heroine located deep within the frigid canyon cliffs. Players exploring the Gerudo region will discover unique puzzles and valuable rewards tied to this ancient monument.

Locating the Statue in the Gerudo Highlands

To reach the Statue of the Eighth Heroine, travelers should launch from the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower. Heading northwest into the snow-covered chasm reveals the massive stone figure carved directly into the cliffside. Precise map coordinates place this imposing monument near the northern edges of the plateau.

Unlike in previous adventures, the statue features a locked gate situated where its head once stood. Observing the glowing amber seal on its chest is key to understanding how to gain entry. Navigating the surrounding vertical cliffs requires proper cold resistance gear and stamina preparation.

Solving the Light Puzzle to Unlock the Gate

Opening the chamber inside the statue requires solving a light reflection puzzle. Players can locate Zonai mirrors on nearby rock platforms overlooking the structure. By angling a mirror to catch direct sunlight, you can direct a focused beam onto the amber plate on the statue chest.

Holding the beam steady for a few seconds triggers the mechanism and opens the sealed gate above. If you visit during nighttime hours, setting up a campfire allows you to fast-forward until morning. Fusing a mirror to Link shield provides an even easier way to aim the light beam directly at the target.

Clearing the Secret Cave and Claiming Rewards

Stepping through the newly opened gate leads into a hidden cave filled with hostile Gibdo enemies. Utilizing elemental fire or electric attacks quickly strips away their armor for an easy victory. Once the area is cleared, players will notice a treasure chest buried under a thick layer of sand.

Using a Zonai fan or a Korok Frond allows you to blow away the sand and access the chest. Inside lies Tingle Hood, a unique piece of armor appreciated by collectors and series enthusiasts. Exploring the side alcoves also provides access to a Bubbulfrog for additional completion rewards.
